Black Sheep, the Best Sheep!

Hi Dolls,

I attended a Christmas Party at none other than the fabulous Black Sheep Restaurant, in 5 points last night!  We were on the rooftop, which at this time of year, was perfect!  Not only did we have beautiful views of the city but the ambiance was perfect for a Christmas party, complete with white lights, candles, and heater towers.  I wore this really cute leather skater dress I bought on sale last summer from Zara and it was the right amount of coverage for the cool Florida evening!
This is a food post so I won't waste anytime describing the amazing food we had.  For starters, we had several appetizers.  Everyone didn't get the memo that I needed pictures first before digging in so the absolutely amazing Chicken Liver Mousse with southern pepper relish was not photographed.  Take my word for it, you want to get this when you go to Black Sheep!  It is delicious.  Here is what I was able to get before devoured.
Old Bay Potato Chips:  These chips are made in house and dusted with, you guessed it, Old Bay.  It came with a Point Reyes Blue Cheese Fondue for dipping.  I'm not a fan of blue cheese so I dipped mine in the chicken liver mousse, don't judge.  It was just as good, if not better this way!
Fried Green Olives:  I've never had olives this way before but I'm sure it won't be my last.  It tasted exactly how it is described, like a fried olive.  It was stuffed with house-made pimento cheese which added a nice little surprise when you bit into it.
Korean Beef Short Ribs: This happened to be my dish!  Our waitress was right when she said, "Everyone will be jealous of your dish"!  It was absolutely delectable!  As a matter of fact my mouth is watering a little right now just looking at the picture.  The bulgogi marinated beef was incredibly tender and all of the sides including logan turnpike grits, kimchi, and a soft boiled egg, were the absolute perfect compliments to this dish.  I was beyond satisfied.
Springer Mountain Farms Chicken: Most of the guest got this dish which consisted of a deliciously cooked quarter chicken, roasted cauliflower, leeks, fingerling potatoes, rye bread and caper crumbles, and hollandaise sauce.  Just looking at this dish puts me in the mindset of fall/winter.  Delicious!
Catch of The Day:  This was a beautiful piece of trout accompanied by house-made chorizo, sapelo island clams, caramelized fennel, and shellfish broth.
Wild Georgia Shrimp and Grits: These were some of the most succulent shrimp complete with charred broccoli, shallot confit, and a flavorful New Orleans BBQ sauce.
I was able to get a small taste of all of these dishes and every last one of them were superb!  After gift exchanges and lots of laughs and pictures, dessert came around!  Same as before, some of the ladies dug right in before my pics but I caught a couple!
I'm not quite sure what the dish above was but it looked delicious!  I had the Upside Down Fig Cake below that was served with five spice ice cream, and a peanut brittle.  In all honesty it was to "spicy" for my liking.  Not spicy as in hot but spicy as in too many flavors.  It was a beautiful to look at though.

I've had food from Black Sheep before but had never been on the rooftop.  It was a perfect evening of dining and holiday fun with some amazing people.  My birthday is in the spring and I think a birthday brunch on the rooftop would be ideal!  The food is out of this world and if and when you get a chance to visit Black Sheep, try some of the items I mentioned.  I highly recommend the Korean Beef Short Ribs!  Phenomenal would be an understatement!
As always thanks so much for stopping by and have a fabulous weekend!
XOXO
